Your NaNoWriMo at MGA Headquarters

NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month is a worldwide writing event in which participants challenge themselves to write a 50,000 word novel during the month of November.

Challenge yourself from November 1 to November 30 as you write and plot out your novel with the goal of completing a 50,000-word novel by 11:59 PM on November 30th.

How Does It Work?

National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo)'s website has many tools to get your started before November.

To participate you can signup with NaNoWriMo’s official site by following these easy steps:

  1. Fill out your profile at nanowrimo.org. Complete your profile so like-minded writers can connect with you.
  2. Create your novel.
  3. Select your region. Choose a home region to get updates on local events from your volunteer Municipal Liaison. Once you’ve selected your region, your Regional Lounge will appear with the forums.

MGA Students/Faculty/Staff will select: USA::Georgia::Macon

        4. Earn Badges.  Award yourself badges to celebrate your personal peaks as you embark on your creative path.

        5. Use Resources for inspiration.  Including the ones on this guide.

        6. Start Writing.  Update your Word count using the dashboard.

        7.  Claim Your Win.  Paste the full text of your novel into the Word Count Validator to win.  (Beginning November 20th.)
