Text pulled from the Jan. 27, 1992 News Release:
"Our Black History Month activities are designed to present the interrelatedness of black history, culture, literature, and arts and their influence on local and personal experience." - Mary Alice Morgan, Assistant Professor of English/Member of the Black History Month planning committee.
"Ms. Watts will perform traditional African folktales and modern African American stories at noon Feb. 20... and Giovanni will read from her works at 8:00 p.m. Feb. 28."
"This series offers our students and guests an important opportunity to learn about, and reflect on, the diverse experiences and achievements of African-Americans."
