Logging in to GIL-Find / My Library Account

Logging in to MGA's GIL-Find Catalog allows you to do a number of things:

  • Create GIL Express requests to have books sent to you from other USG college libraries.
  • Click on "Access My Library Account" to do the following:
    • Check the status of requests.
    • Renew books.
    • Check on possible fines.
    • Get the GALILEO password.

How do you log in?

  • Current MGA students, faculty, and staff will use their MGA email login info.
  • You will use your ENTIRE EMAIL ADDRESS as your username: (firstname.lastname@mga.edu)
  • Use your EMAIL PASSWORD.

Find Library Books

In the Library:

  • Browse the "L", "LB" and "LC" sections of your campus library for education books related to your topic or use the subject term, ex:  "early childhood education"

Tools to find more books

NoveList K-8 Plus--  online readers' advisory tool aimed at elementary and middle school students. It helps readers find new books and audiobooks based on books they've read or on topics in which they are interested. NoveList K-8 Plus provides enhanced subject access to thousands of fiction and nonfiction titles along with book reviews or annotations. It also includes booktalks, picture book extenders, and Curricular Connections articles that will guide faculty to new titles and new ways for translating curriculum standards into classroom action.

NoveList K-8 Plus helps you explore and discover the world of fiction. You can:

  • find new books to read
  • print a list of all the books in the series you are reading
  • search for new books and authors similar to other books and authors you have enjoyed
  • look for a book about a particular subject, relationship, geographic area, or period of time
  • review award-winning books

Digital Public Library of America -- (DPLA) offers a single point of access to millions of items - photographs, manuscripts, books, sounds, moving images, and more - from libraries, archives, and museums around the United States.

In the Library:

  • Browse the "L" section for reference books in your field. Example (Macon campus): Encyclopedia of Education, 2nd ed., 8 vols. Ref. LB 15 .E47 2003
