Project Management

Module Five

 

Purpose:

The purpose of the assignment is to first analyze: what are quality assurance or quality control measures in a project charter? Students will seek to scrutinize how implementations of quality assurance or quality control measures or plans can be an effective method in project management. The assignment particularity looks to investigate how various aspects in quality assurance or quality control analysis planning can affect IT projects. After reviewing the case study of choice, students will seek to understand how implementing the quality assurance tool in a plan such as Deming's 14 points of management, Juran's importance of employee training for quality assurance, or Six Sigma's constructs of zero defects consideration, can attribute to reducing the triple constraint. 

 

Students will:

  • Interpret how various aspects in the project management plan can affect IT projects.
  • Evaluate project management leadership styles and critique their effectiveness through case studies.
  • Critique how an IT organization’s management theory develops project planning stages. 
  • Analyze how implementing project management tools and plans can contribute to a reducing IT risk, cost analysis, or failure. 

 

Assignment Goals:

  • The understanding will benefit the student by increasing their awareness about project scope aspects.
  • The assignment should motivate students to increase their current job roles or research as graduate students.
  • After this assignment, students should be able to critique the effectiveness of using a quality assurance plan.
  • In the conclusion, describe how one of the ten knowledge areas can be furthered in the next project or enhance the organizations' abilities. 

 

 

Tasks

  • In the library or the text information, students should first research about quality assurance or quality control measures in IT projects. In the introduction, students should explain what quality assurance or quality control measures in a project charter are in relation to information technology.
  • In the library, students should do research to find a journal article (Case Study) on an organization with an IT project focused on quality assurance or quality control measures in a project's management plan of interest. Students may want to research and describe first a plan such as Deming's 14 points of management, or the effects of one used in Juran's to shadow the importance of Top Management Commitment to Quality, or Six Sigma Method zero defects considerations.
  • Students should consider how the project's scope was influenced by quality assurance or quality control measures in IT projects?
  • Finally, in your conclusion, students must describe a furthering suggestion (thought) about how one of the 10 knowledge areas is being influenced by the use of quality assurance or quality control measures in IT projects.
